Captain McFinn and Friends! Review and Giveaway.

Working in a school it amazes me how even at such a young age bullying is very widely spread. Even at 4 years old the children start picking at each others clothing, hair, speech and well just about anything they can! When I got the chance to review this great new series called Captain McFinn and Friends I was really excited to see if it could be something to use with my kids and students alike.
First I downloaded the interactive App onto my phone. My phone was a little slow for it but it looked really really cool so I checked and was excited to see that it is available on the kindle as well! You can check it our for your kindle HERE. I love the wide variety of material that you can get. I received a CD with tons of great songs. They kept my children's attention and had a great message. An activity book with fun mazes and coloring pages was a great addition. The story books were by far my favorite part of this series. It is brightly illustrated and full of adorable characters that my children simply LOVED! Now like many people right now we are out on winter break but I can't wait to show this to our school district and hopefully implement it as a program there! Remember that bullying prevention is nothing to joke about and they are never to young. Even at 5 years old my daughter very much understood the concept of these materials and I am assured all her classmates will as well. If you want to find out more about this great series please here HERE. You can find great free activities and also shop for these amazing books. These books would make a great gift for any child, parent of teacher. Don't be afraid to bring it up to your school district, lets stop bullying before it starts!
Captain McFinn and Friends want to help get bullying prevention off to a great start, they are giving away Captain McFinn and Friends Materials to one lucky reader.

I love the concept of the materials they offer. It is never to soon to educate our children on bullying!

Sounds like a great way to educate the kids that be a bully is just wrong, never to early to teach that and it sounds like its fun way for them to learn so they "get it".

I love the idea of this. I hate that there is bullying going on in this world. It is never to early to learn that it is wrong to bully.

I can remember filling in for an after school program and watching the kids age 4 teasing other children because of their shoes. All the parents (myself included) went out that night and bought our children shoes like the child they were picking on and made them wear them. I was so upset that my son at that age would pick on another child for something so stupid.

#Cozycatfurniture Growing up Kitty with Ginger

It has been so many years since we have had a kitten around the house I think I had forgotten just how active and amazing they are! I am sure many of you have seen me talk about Ginger our baby. She is FeLV positive, and just days short of her 7 month birthday. We also have 2 other boys with are getting up there in age. Thomas has always been a scratcher and I admit I had never thought about getting a kitty tree before this. Earlier in the month a great opportunity to review the Kitty Condo Tree from   Cozy Cat Furniture came about I thought oh great Ginger will have a place to nap, play, learn, and most importantly SCRATCH!      It Arrived in a box which I have to admit scared me a bit at first, it was much small then I thought.....was the tree smaller....was this one of those "some adult assembly required" items? Luckily it was easy to put together and came out so much sturdier then I had expected.  Even before we could give the word go Ginger was eager to play a

Jello Hard Candy

Most hard candies call for corn syrup, but since I was out and I have 3 children home I decided to experiment and make something fun! Here is what you need: 2 Cups of Sugar 2 Cups of Water 1 Package Sugar Free Jello A candy Thermometer Making candy is a pretty tricky process and trust me I messed up a batch or two getting this to work right.lol Put the sugar and water into the pot and turn on medium whisking well till the sugar is dissolved. Stirring pretty regularly to help the sugar from burning. As the sugar begin to boil turn the heat up to high. Watch your thermometer when the candy reaches 230 pour in the jello continuing to mix. Pour this mixture immediately into a cake pan that is lined with parchment paper of you can rub a little veggie oil in it. The candy will continue to cook as it melts anything over 230 you will be left with a burnt candy that tastes like licorice.lol After you candy is cooled completely turn it out onto a cookie sheet and break apart :O) I li

Killing Ants Safely

LOL okay I know the title seems a bit silly. Here is West Texas ants are a BIG problem. Not only do they bite, but well they are really annoying! They sneak into every crack in your house no matter how hard you try. With pets though you are very limited to the products you can safely use to kill ants. As time goes on more and more I am concerned about the products I keep in this house and the effect they have on not only me and my children, but my pets. When looking for ways to rid myself of these pests I found a simple, cheap, and effective means to do so. CORNMEAL! Yep it is very simple, for about $2 a bag I can treat weekly for an entire year! While it doesn't kill them all it has certainly brought down the population so that now it isn't even noticeable. All you do it sprinkle it on top of their mounds and watch the greedy little ants drag it all inside! When eaten it expands and POOF! ;O) You get the picture.
