Keeping Father's Day Fresh and Cool with Fruttare

If there is one thing that you can't avoid in West Texas it is the heat. and while this year has been much more pleasant then the last several years it is still well into the 90s every day. For Father's Day this year we decided that we would stay home and do something fun at home :) so of course we decided outdoor play and grilling were on the menu.
After a couple hours of golf and water play my kiddos were more then ready fro a nice cool down. Luckily I had picked up a box of their favorite treats. You may remember last summer we were introduced to Fruttare in a review opportunity, if you missed that post you can read it HERE. Well this summer we were pleased to find that there were some new flavor options! There is the New Strawberry & Milk + Mixed Berry & Milk, Black Cherry, and Pineapple. My kids decided they wanted to try the Black Cherry and of course and old favorite STRAWBERRY!
If you haven't gotten out and tried Fruttare yet I recommend you do! There are so many reasons that I really enjoy Fruttare real fruit bars, but at the top of the list is that they are low in sugar. With roughly 11g of sugar per bar my kids aren't being pumped with sugars that will no doubt make them hyper! I also love that you can see the real chunks of fruit in their bars, they aren't just dyes and preservatives....they are fruit!

Homemade Fly Traps

We all love summer but as the weather gets warmer the flies get worse and worse. We have a bush out front of our house that I swear just attracts every fly in town! I wanted to get rid of them but I didn't want to kill all the wonderful butterflies it also attracts. So I went about finding a new way to kill them all. I had some empty Tazo tea bottles I simply poked a pen sized whole in the top, added 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Now I do find that these work better if you place them in the sun :O) If you want to use a bigger container simply multiply the ingredients. Make sure your hole is only about the size of a pen cap! Then they can't seem to get back out.lol

Putting On Girl Scout Badges With A Flat Iron

I love helping all my little daisies earn badges, but as a mom I hate putting them on. Lol I saw an idea on Pinterest a while back to use a flat iron so I thought I'd give it a try.  It worked really well but I do have a couple suggestions. First make sure your badge  is exactly where you want them. Unlike an iron this causes the glue to melt very fast! Second count I 3-4 and it is probably done! Lastly you will likely have to apply pressure to the end pinching it tight. Overall it worked very well and I will probably keep putting badges on this way :)
