Making Summer Time Fun With Backyard Safari Outfitters

The challenge of any parent during the summer months is keeping your children entertained. As a mother of 3 children that challenge seems to grow just as fast as they do! Recently I was given the opportunity to review a group of children's exploration toys from Backyard Safari Outfitters. When my kids first pulled their essential field gear out of the box they seemed to know right away where they would first explore!
My oldest is nearly 11 and he didn't seem to have much interest in the items. My 8 and 5 year old though it was almost a blood bath who would get to play with what first! Finally it was settled, my middle child would go off on an exploration while my daughter played with the habitat. I really loved that while well packaged the packaging was easy to remove and folded down in to nearly nothing. I really hate when you buy a toy and all you can think is that you paid for the packaging. With tags removed my son put on his vest and binocs and grabs his buttterfly net. Nicholas is a really big bug guy, in fact I often have to tell him he cannot keep rollie pollies inside, or in his pockets lol. So he had a ton of fun playing with these items, needless to say. I caught a couple cute shots of him looking for bugs out in the garden.
The bad thing about binocs is you are often caught while taking pictures of them ;)
It was so great to see my child outside actually using his imagination and exploring. I really think that children are not encouraged enough to use their minds these days. We turn on the tv at an early age and use it as a baby sitter. Or they sit in front of video games for hours on end, so it was great to review  a product that got my kids out of the house.
We were really hoping that on our vacation we would be able to find some tadpoles for our habitat but we have not been able to. It says that you are able to order them so once the weather cools a bit I think we will be ordering one. Teaching the children how the world works is very important to us. No worries though my daughter figured out something to do with it :) She just made her other toys a little play place, and yes the scene does change, sometimes several times a day.
I really thought all of these products were well constructed. My children have been playing pretty heavily with these toys for the better part of a month now with no noticeable damage to the product. The fun level they have with them is very high and I would recommend for children ages 4-9, but you know your child best and if they love to explore this essential field gear would be perfect for them.
Backyard Safari Outfitter is available at most major retailers(Walmart, Target, K-Mart etc.) and prices range from $5.99-$39.99 for products. We really look forward to getting their Backyard Safari-COMM EXPERT gear for the children's birthday.

#Cozycatfurniture Growing up Kitty with Ginger

It has been so many years since we have had a kitten around the house I think I had forgotten just how active and amazing they are! I am sure many of you have seen me talk about Ginger our baby. She is FeLV positive, and just days short of her 7 month birthday. We also have 2 other boys with are getting up there in age. Thomas has always been a scratcher and I admit I had never thought about getting a kitty tree before this. Earlier in the month a great opportunity to review the Kitty Condo Tree from   Cozy Cat Furniture came about I thought oh great Ginger will have a place to nap, play, learn, and most importantly SCRATCH!      It Arrived in a box which I have to admit scared me a bit at first, it was much small then I thought.....was the tree smaller....was this one of those "some adult assembly required" items? Luckily it was easy to put together and came out so much sturdier then I had expected.  Even before we could give the word go Ginger was eager to play a

With summer time in full force here in West Texas getting some new summer time clothing was not only a needed thing but a fun thing to do. We decided to try out The Children's Place online ordering. I've mentioned before my love of Build-a-Bear, there is nothing that brings a bigger smile to a child's face then being able to create their very own personalized furry friend. One of the great parts about Build-a-Bear is they are constantly updating the friends you can create. Right now they have a great selection on Valentines friends that you and your children can create and love. I got the chance this month to review a friend that is available just TODAY! The Girl Scouts Thin Mints Bear brings back so  many memories as of my time as a girl scout. I love that on one foot there is a Thin Mints cookie, which is my personal favorite! On the other there is the Girl Scout Trefoil, the symbol every Girl Scout knows and has pride in. My daughter is 5 years old now and I am so excited. In less then a year she will start here journey through the ranks of the Girl Scouts. My daughter simply loved this bear(as she does all her Build a Bear frien
