Simply Saturday Here Comes The Future!

Like I mentioned last week our family is preparing to move to a homesteading lifestyle. Last weekend we ended up buying an rv which will end up being our start off homestead shelter. It was an exciting moment since it wasn't exactly what we intended on doing but it was the perfect one at the perfect time. So now that we have shelter we are going to be searching for land in 20 days! Wow what a scary thought that is.....we are going to spend a little more then a week looking about to find the perfect homestead. If it is meant to be it will happen is the way I see it, we won't settle on something that may be good enough it must be PERFECT! Right now the plan is to leave here on April 1st, yep that is right 297 days! I am so excited about this and yet so overwhelmed because as my husband continues to work 70 hours a week to make it all possible it is my job to downsize and get rid of about 90% of what we own! Which is sadly surprisingly easier then one would think. In my 12 adult years I have gathered quite a bit of stuff looking back I should have never bought. The amount of money I COULD have makes me ill but we all learn from our experiences.
Everything but the dog and treadmill so far :)

So what does this mean for this blog??? Well nothing really hahaha....I plan on continuing to create yummy recipes, fun crafts and review but I will be adding even more projects as I try to create things to help us on our homesteading journey. So here come round one of downsizing!(yeah I can't get rid of everything all at once) lol I already have a huge pile and in 6 days I will have my first yard sale! Woot woot! I hope everyone has a great weekend, enjoy your family and find something new to try.

What exciting yet scary thing. I guess that if you are going to do it, you should do it while you are young.

30 Day Beach Body Challenge- Day 3 #30dayfitness

Here we are at day 3, now unfortunately I am to sick to work out today but I wanted to make sure that I shared the information with you on how to do these exercises so that everyone could easily get their's done. I will catch up as I can, may even try to add extra to the days once I feel better. For today it is 50 burpees and 50 kick down crunches. If you don't know how to do these make sure to scroll down for directions! You will also see why with the flu these aren't doable.lol HOW TO DO A BURPEE!

Homemade Fly Traps

We all love summer but as the weather gets warmer the flies get worse and worse. We have a bush out front of our house that I swear just attracts every fly in town! I wanted to get rid of them but I didn't want to kill all the wonderful butterflies it also attracts. So I went about finding a new way to kill them all. I had some empty Tazo tea bottles I simply poked a pen sized whole in the top, added 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Now I do find that these work better if you place them in the sun :O) If you want to use a bigger container simply multiply the ingredients. Make sure your hole is only about the size of a pen cap! Then they can't seem to get back out.lol

Putting On Girl Scout Badges With A Flat Iron

I love helping all my little daisies earn badges, but as a mom I hate putting them on. Lol I saw an idea on Pinterest a while back to use a flat iron so I thought I'd give it a try.  It worked really well but I do have a couple suggestions. First make sure your badge  is exactly where you want them. Unlike an iron this causes the glue to melt very fast! Second count I 3-4 and it is probably done! Lastly you will likely have to apply pressure to the end pinching it tight. Overall it worked very well and I will probably keep putting badges on this way :)
