Getting Fit and Feeling Great with Ellie!

DSCN6005
Since the first of the year I know you have heard me talk a lot about getting fit. It has been great to have a great support team at work and I have to admit I am a little afraid that come summer break I will slip. Recently I have been back sliding a bit with my busy schedule so when I got the chance to review a new workout outfit from Ellie I was SUPER excited. Looking through their website of super cute outfits it was really hard to decide what I wanted. After much thought I decided to go with the Little Black Capris and  After Dark Shirt making sure to use their handy size chart to figure out just the right fit for me.
I did avoid this time going with the "let's get the size I would like to be" thought that was running through my mind. After all this outfit is the motivation to get to that size not an outfit I wanted to wear at a later time. When I check the mail and saw a shiny pink foil envelope in the mail box I didn't even have to look at the sender it was like a kid at Christmas lol. Opening the bag I first noticed the feel of the material. I hadn't had work out clothing made of this material before. It is very thick and stretchable. I wasn't sure if this material would make me sweat or keep me dry! Their TruFit technology ensures that it will never shirk and always be flattering, well as much as a fat roll can flatter.lol I do have to admit compared to the other brands I currently use I do look a WHOLE LOT better in this great Ellie outfit.

When I selected my outfit I had several things in mind. First I wanted something that was designed with enough coverage that I would feel comfortable wearing it out in public. Then I also wanted to make sure I could wear it out and get a little sun and TRY to stay cool! Here in West Texas it is hot from sun up till sun down, so any outside workouts are going to require that you are hot. In fact when I woke up this morning for my run it was already 65 degrees before the sun started to rise. The Capri pants give me the coverage that my legs need to make sure that as a teacher I keep modest in covering up. Shorts on me always tend to be a little risky. The top I wasn't to worried about as a small chested woman I don't have much struggle with that :) but the Shirt provided me with the exposed back so that I could work on my tan a little bit to while I was working out.

Jello Hard Candy

Most hard candies call for corn syrup, but since I was out and I have 3 children home I decided to experiment and make something fun! Here is what you need:
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of Water
1 Package Sugar Free Jello
A candy Thermometer

Making candy is a pretty tricky process and trust me I messed up a batch or two getting this to work right.lol Put the sugar and water into the pot and turn on medium whisking well till the sugar is dissolved. Stirring pretty regularly to help the sugar from burning. As the sugar begin to boil turn the heat up to high. Watch your thermometer when the candy reaches 230 pour in the jello continuing to mix. Pour this mixture immediately into a cake pan that is lined with parchment paper of you can rub a little veggie oil in it. The candy will continue to cook as it melts anything over 230 you will be left with a burnt candy that tastes like licorice.lol After you candy is cooled completely turn it out onto a cookie sheet and break apart :O) I like to dust mine …

The Children's Place Review and Giveaway

Recently I was lucky enough to be given a chance to review The Children's Place. With summer time in full force here in West Texas getting some new summer time clothing was not only a needed thing but a fun thing to do. We decided to try out The Children's Place online ordering. I had never done this before and with a packed schedule it was very handy! My daughter loved sitting don and being able to pick out an entire outfit for under $25. In fact she was not only able to get an out fit but to additional pairs of shorts! Not only was ordering fast and easy but we received our clothing in 2 days. Considering we hit a record high 103 degrees yesterday it came none to soon! Here is the adorable outfit that she picked out :O) she had to model it of course! Butterfly Shirt $6; Matching Shorts $6;Flip Flops to go with her out fit $3.50. The excitement of picking her outfit herself Priceless.
She really had so much fun with this and she loves her new flips flops(because the 5 pairs she…

Rubbermaid Hidden Recycler Review and Giveaway

Recently I was given an amazing opportunity to review a new product by Rubbermaid called the Hidden Recycler. As a family who does a lot to help our planet in many ways this was an exciting opportunity. I loved the fact the Rubbermaid not only made a product that would help my family continue their recycling more easily but they reduced packaging to merely a cardboard sleeve that I could in turn recycle. I quickly opened the package like a kid at Christmas and discovered it would not fit my kitchen cabinets :O( we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and the layout of my old cabinets would not hold the brackets.  So as I sat down to gloat about not being able to use this amazing product, and I notice two holes on the lid and made a massive dash for the directions. Sure enough I can attach it with screws! (Which ironically took me forever to find in our construction materials) I found the perfect place for it in my laundry room and began putting all of Rubbermaid's claims to the …
