Build-A-Bear Thin Mint Bear Review and Giveaway

I've mentioned before my love of Build-a-Bear, there is nothing that brings a bigger smile to a child's face then being able to create their very own personalized furry friend. One of the great parts about Build-a-Bear is they are constantly updating the friends you can create. Right now they have a great selection on Valentines friends that you and your children can create and love. I got the chance this month to review a friend that is available just TODAY! The Girl Scouts Thin Mints Bear brings back so  many memories as of my time as a girl scout. I love that on one foot there is a Thin Mints cookie, which is my personal favorite! On the other there is the Girl Scout Trefoil, the symbol every Girl Scout knows and has pride in. My daughter is 5 years old now and I am so excited. In less then a year she will start here journey through the ranks of the Girl Scouts.

My daughter simply loved this bear(as she does all her Build a Bear friends). It is really well stitched and perfectly stuffed. I love that you can go in store and select how you want your friend filled. A little heart goes into every bear that your children will have to remember for a lifetime. Our Thin Mints Bear came with the traditional khaki pants, white shirt and Girl Scout vest. I love that you can customize her with your child's troop number! There is no better way to personalize this furry friend then to make her a member of your troop.
You are not limited to just the traditional Girl Scout Uniform when you dress this  cool bear. You can get everything from Daisies to Cadets to personalize your bear. Also available right now is the Girl Scout 100th Anniversary Bear! I think I will get this one for my daughter as well because it only happen once that such a great organization turns 100!
Don't miss out on these great deals. Make sure to order by February 6th to make sure your special little one can arrive by Valentine's Day! Don't miss out on the chance to win a $25 gift cards thanks to Build-A-Bear, enter below :)

Jello Hard Candy

Most hard candies call for corn syrup, but since I was out and I have 3 children home I decided to experiment and make something fun! Here is what you need:
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of Water
1 Package Sugar Free Jello
A candy Thermometer

Making candy is a pretty tricky process and trust me I messed up a batch or two getting this to work right.lol Put the sugar and water into the pot and turn on medium whisking well till the sugar is dissolved. Stirring pretty regularly to help the sugar from burning. As the sugar begin to boil turn the heat up to high. Watch your thermometer when the candy reaches 230 pour in the jello continuing to mix. Pour this mixture immediately into a cake pan that is lined with parchment paper of you can rub a little veggie oil in it. The candy will continue to cook as it melts anything over 230 you will be left with a burnt candy that tastes like licorice.lol After you candy is cooled completely turn it out onto a cookie sheet and break apart :O) I like to dust mine …

The Children's Place Review and Giveaway

Recently I was lucky enough to be given a chance to review The Children's Place. With summer time in full force here in West Texas getting some new summer time clothing was not only a needed thing but a fun thing to do. We decided to try out The Children's Place online ordering. I had never done this before and with a packed schedule it was very handy! My daughter loved sitting don and being able to pick out an entire outfit for under $25. In fact she was not only able to get an out fit but to additional pairs of shorts! Not only was ordering fast and easy but we received our clothing in 2 days. Considering we hit a record high 103 degrees yesterday it came none to soon! Here is the adorable outfit that she picked out :O) she had to model it of course! Butterfly Shirt $6; Matching Shorts $6;Flip Flops to go with her out fit $3.50. The excitement of picking her outfit herself Priceless.
She really had so much fun with this and she loves her new flips flops(because the 5 pairs she…

Killing Ants Safely

LOL okay I know the title seems a bit silly. Here is West Texas ants are a BIG problem. Not only do they bite, but well they are really annoying! They sneak into every crack in your house no matter how hard you try. With pets though you are very limited to the products you can safely use to kill ants. As time goes on more and more I am concerned about the products I keep in this house and the effect they have on not only me and my children, but my pets. When looking for ways to rid myself of these pests I found a simple, cheap, and effective means to do so. CORNMEAL! Yep it is very simple, for about $2 a bag I can treat weekly for an entire year! While it doesn't kill them all it has certainly brought down the population so that now it isn't even noticeable. All you do it sprinkle it on top of their mounds and watch the greedy little ants drag it all inside! When eaten it expands and POOF! ;O) You get the picture.
