Flat Iron Experts

I know I have mentioned before that as I get older I have become more "girly" and well finally realized my hair was a BIG part of my looks. I had purchased last year a cheap name brand straightener from my local Walmart (oh yes I did *hangs head in shame*) I struggled to really develop that nice straight look. Well now I understand you really get what you pay for when it comes to hair Recently I was given the  chance to review a great group of products from the Flat Iron Experts and it has made all the difference in my hair.
My new favorite tool is the Cortex Solo 450 Titanium Giraffe Flat Iron/Hair Straightener (1"). With adjustable heat settings up to 450 degrees I am able to make sure that I have enough heat to get the straightest look but I don't completely fry my hair Which yes I have managed to do with other irons. It also includes:
Nano Titanium Technology : which provides lightweight strength as well as a super hard, smooth surface for snag free styling and even heat distribution.
1. Preserve more moisture within the hair shaft
2. Eliminates frizz and close the cuticle to create smooth and shiny hair
3. Causes less damage to the hair cuticle during styling
Negative Ion Technology: Negative ions are atoms that can stop the growth of bacteria, fungi, etc., resulting in healthier hair and scalp. Negative ion energy is powerful enough to break apart clusters of water molecules. The smaller water molecules penetrate into the hair shaft by slipping between the cuticles, adding plumpness/volume to hair. The bombardment of negative ions also closes the hair cuticle, which is very good for the health and appearance of the hair.
Far Infrared Heat : Far Infrared (FIR) rays are electro-magnetic waves of energy, totally invisible to the naked eye, capable of penetrating deep into the human body, including the hair shaft. It therefore dries the hair from the inside out. The result is that more moisture remains in the hair shaft and there is less damage to the hair.

Now I know I know you are thinking SO WHAT!?! Well I can tell you that using this iron daily with the KQC Thermal Shine Spray I have really seen a noticeable difference in the condition and quality of my hair.I was also able to review the Flat Iron Experts Iron Holder which it REALLY nice. For the last year I have just been placing my flat iron on my bathroom counter, yep major fire With more quality hair styling tools and products then I can name Flat Iron Experts have the perfect present for you, or  a loved one this holiday season.
**I received the above mentioned products in order to write this review. All views expressed are that of my own and were in now way influenced**

Homemade Fly Traps

We all love summer but as the weather gets warmer the flies get worse and worse. We have a bush out front of our house that I swear just attracts every fly in town! I wanted to get rid of them but I didn't want to kill all the wonderful butterflies it also attracts. So I went about finding a new way to kill them all. I had some empty Tazo tea bottles I simply poked a pen sized whole in the top, added 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Now I do find that these work better if you place them in the sun :O) If you want to use a bigger container simply multiply the ingredients. Make sure your hole is only about the size of a pen cap! Then they can't seem to get back

Putting On Girl Scout Badges With A Flat Iron

I love helping all my little daisies earn badges, but as a mom I hate putting them on. Lol I saw an idea on Pinterest a while back to use a flat iron so I thought I'd give it a try.  It worked really well but I do have a couple suggestions. First make sure your badge  is exactly where you want them. Unlike an iron this causes the glue to melt very fast! Second count I 3-4 and it is probably done! Lastly you will likely have to apply pressure to the end pinching it tight. Overall it worked very well and I will probably keep putting badges on this way :)

Jello Hard Candy

Most hard candies call for corn syrup, but since I was out and I have 3 children home I decided to experiment and make something fun! Here is what you need:
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of Water
1 Package Sugar Free Jello
A candy Thermometer

Making candy is a pretty tricky process and trust me I messed up a batch or two getting this to work Put the sugar and water into the pot and turn on medium whisking well till the sugar is dissolved. Stirring pretty regularly to help the sugar from burning. As the sugar begin to boil turn the heat up to high. Watch your thermometer when the candy reaches 230 pour in the jello continuing to mix. Pour this mixture immediately into a cake pan that is lined with parchment paper of you can rub a little veggie oil in it. The candy will continue to cook as it melts anything over 230 you will be left with a burnt candy that tastes like After you candy is cooled completely turn it out onto a cookie sheet and break apart :O) I like to dust mine …
