Cat Fun With Petmate

58018_cat_scratch_wheel_teal3

As you have seen animals are a big part of our family. With 3 kids, 4 dogs and 2 cats we are quite a large family to.lol Petmate has really blessed me with a great bunch of reviews to do. My animal babies have had a great time reviewing these products. There is just way to much good stuff to cram it all in one post so here is the run down on our kitty fun products. This cat wheel my cats haven't yet messed with but they are extreme stratchers so I have no doubt that once they figure it out they will really enjoy it.lol It is made of durable plastic covered in carpet. The bottom is a cardboard emory material perfect to help file down their nails and comes complete with catnip. They are however LOVING the other two great products that I was sent to review.
First was a product from their partner company FAT CAT which is ironically funny considering this is my chubby cats favorite toy.lol The Fat Cat Tiki Hut is easy to assemble and really durable. I was a little worried at first because it is held together by velcro and well.....my cat is nearly 15 pounds.lol He has really loved sitting on top and scrathing the living day lights out of this toy! He even squeezed himself inside once haha which is not quite big enough for him. My thinner cat however loves to be inside of it and attack his friend.lol Lastly was the Fat Cat Boogy Mat I have used this mat on the back end of my couch to give somewhere else for the hair to collect. They already LOVED playing on the back of my couch and now it seems to be even more fun! Plus I can take it outside and shake all the hair off instead of having to tape  hair off my couch. You wouldn't believe how much how this family collects......then again you probably would.lol Not only is it a great furniture saver but it also makes crinkly sounds when they walk about on it and comes with catnip to encourage more play. Available in many different styles. Now hopefully with all these toys(and his new diet) my cat can start losing some much needed weight. You never know he may fit into his tiki hut one day hehe. Thank you Petmate and Fat Cat for these great products to reivew! Join me later in the week as I go over some of the great new products that my puppies are loving :O) including the fun friends that have seen Sparky through his spell of parvo.

**I recieved the above mentioned items in order to complete a full and honest review. All thought expressed are that of my own and were in no way influenced.**

Jello Hard Candy

Most hard candies call for corn syrup, but since I was out and I have 3 children home I decided to experiment and make something fun! Here is what you need:
2 Cups of Sugar
2 Cups of Water
1 Package Sugar Free Jello
A candy Thermometer

Making candy is a pretty tricky process and trust me I messed up a batch or two getting this to work right.lol Put the sugar and water into the pot and turn on medium whisking well till the sugar is dissolved. Stirring pretty regularly to help the sugar from burning. As the sugar begin to boil turn the heat up to high. Watch your thermometer when the candy reaches 230 pour in the jello continuing to mix. Pour this mixture immediately into a cake pan that is lined with parchment paper of you can rub a little veggie oil in it. The candy will continue to cook as it melts anything over 230 you will be left with a burnt candy that tastes like licorice.lol After you candy is cooled completely turn it out onto a cookie sheet and break apart :O) I like to dust mine …

The Children's Place Review and Giveaway

Recently I was lucky enough to be given a chance to review The Children's Place. With summer time in full force here in West Texas getting some new summer time clothing was not only a needed thing but a fun thing to do. We decided to try out The Children's Place online ordering. I had never done this before and with a packed schedule it was very handy! My daughter loved sitting don and being able to pick out an entire outfit for under $25. In fact she was not only able to get an out fit but to additional pairs of shorts! Not only was ordering fast and easy but we received our clothing in 2 days. Considering we hit a record high 103 degrees yesterday it came none to soon! Here is the adorable outfit that she picked out :O) she had to model it of course! Butterfly Shirt $6; Matching Shorts $6;Flip Flops to go with her out fit $3.50. The excitement of picking her outfit herself Priceless.
She really had so much fun with this and she loves her new flips flops(because the 5 pairs she…

Killing Ants Safely

LOL okay I know the title seems a bit silly. Here is West Texas ants are a BIG problem. Not only do they bite, but well they are really annoying! They sneak into every crack in your house no matter how hard you try. With pets though you are very limited to the products you can safely use to kill ants. As time goes on more and more I am concerned about the products I keep in this house and the effect they have on not only me and my children, but my pets. When looking for ways to rid myself of these pests I found a simple, cheap, and effective means to do so. CORNMEAL! Yep it is very simple, for about $2 a bag I can treat weekly for an entire year! While it doesn't kill them all it has certainly brought down the population so that now it isn't even noticeable. All you do it sprinkle it on top of their mounds and watch the greedy little ants drag it all inside! When eaten it expands and POOF! ;O) You get the picture.
