Mom's Plan It Giveaway

I love this giveaway for back to school!

I've mentioned before about how I really like to try and stay organized. With so many activities for the kids, I need some help keeping track of all the dates and times. The Mom's Plan-It 17 Month Calendar by Families With Purpose is perfect for that! It's a great way to keep track of important dates and appointments. I was sent the 2013 Mom's Plan It Christian Engagement Calendar. This is the same as the standard version but has a Bible verse on the cover.
I love the size of the planner. At 6.5"x8.5" when closed, it easily fits in my purse. This way, I always have it with me and can easily check dates. The planner has a convenient pocket on the inside cover to keep receipts, notes, etc. There's a space for each calendar day with plenty of room to write down info. Each page also includes a tear off section for writing your grocery lost and a place to write down the week's menu. I really like this! So many times, I've gotten to the store and forgotten some of what I need. Having this list will make it so much easier! At the back of the planner, there are two pages of stickers to mark important dates or functions. This is a fun way to keep track of birthdays and sports games. There are even stickers for class parties and no school days as well as doctor appointments and date nights :) Another feature I really like is that there's a section in the back for addresses and phone numbers, not only for family and friends but also for children's friends, restaurants, and service providers. I've never seen that in other planners. I'm excited to start using the planner and know it will help me stay organized! In addition to a variety of planners, Families With Purpose also has travel games, chore charts, coupon organizers, standard calendars, and even a Time Out mat, just to name a few. Families with Purpose provides practical advice, empowering strategies, helpful tools, and loads of family fun ideas. It's a great place to find everything you need to help your household run more smoothly! Make sure to connect with them on Facebook and Twitter! One lucky reader will win a planner for themselves! Disclosure: The product(s) offered for the giveaway are free of charge, no purchase necessary. Any opinions expressed are my own honest opinions and are not influenced by any form of compensation. Here we are at day 3, now unfortunately I am to sick to work out today but I wanted to make sure that I shared the information with you on how to do these exercises so that everyone could easily get their's done. If you don't know how to do these make sure to scroll down for directions! You will also see why with the flu these aren't doable.lol HOW TO DO A BURPEE!

Homemade Fly Traps

We all love summer but as the weather gets warmer the flies get worse and worse. We have a bush out front of our house that I swear just attracts every fly in town! I wanted to get rid of them but I didn't want to kill all the wonderful butterflies it also attracts. So I went about finding a new way to kill them all. I had some empty Tazo tea bottles I simply poked a pen sized whole in the top, added 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Now I do find that these work better if you place them in the sun :O) If you want to use a bigger container simply multiply the ingredients. Make sure your hole is only about the size of a pen cap! Then they can't seem to get back out.lol

Putting On Girl Scout Badges With A Flat Iron

I love helping all my little daisies earn badges, but as a mom I hate putting them on. Lol I saw an idea on Pinterest a while back to use a flat iron so I thought I'd give it a try.  It worked really well but I do have a couple suggestions. First make sure your badge  is exactly where you want them. Unlike an iron this causes the glue to melt very fast! Second count I 3-4 and it is probably done! Lastly you will likely have to apply pressure to the end pinching it tight. Overall it worked very well and I will probably keep putting badges on this way :)
