Cook'n Recipe Organizer Review and Giveaway

Now I will admit I am NOT an organized person, not even close. Before this product I would have to turn to Google or Pinterest every time I was looking for my "favorite" recipe. With the Cook'n Recipe Organizer I have had so much fun going around and getting all my favorites into one place! You can enter your own recipes, or with the Capture option you can simply search your favorite recipe, click capture, and there it is at your finger tips to save into your cook book. You can use it to analyze the recipes for nutritional information, menu plan, and even set up a shopping list RIGHT THERE IN THE PROGRAM! If you are like me simply having it on the computer doesn't do a whole lot of good once you get to the store. You print it out, write it down and BAM you still forget it at home. Well with Cook'n Recipe Organizer you can link up with your smart phone and have it handy when you get to the store! It does SOOoo much it's hard to explain but they have assem

Making Cut-Off Shorts For Boys

If you have boys then you have jeans with holes in the knees! With the price of clothing I can never seem to part with them once they become I have been searching different crafts and goodies I can do with them and then I thought what about cut-off shorts?? When I think of shorts made from pants though you think frayed ends and well I'm not sure my kids would survive a day at school wearing These actually turned out WAY better then I thought they would! Pants with destroyed knee! Cut the legs off at about the same point. Keep the scraps for other projects :O) Fold it under and stitch :O) I stitched twice because well you saw the knees ;o) LOL my poor son having to model them :O) they looks just like I bought them at the store  While this won't work for holes any higher then the knees it was prefect for holes at the knees :O) and only 7 more to do for me hehehe. But hey I won't have to buy shorts this summer.

Cutting Vinyl With Your Cricut

I recently bought a Cricut and wanted to try something new with it, cutting vinyl. In wanted to be able to make a sticker for my car window to help share my web page with others they may not come across it on a normal bases. Make sure that in the overlay option you select your cartridges Draw out your design Set the green dial to 2 for thinner material I had to use 1! The black pressure is pushed all the way back to 1  Before you cut make sure your multi cut is set to 1 and the cutting speed set to 3 :O) Peel off the extra vinyl so only what you want on your window is left Apply your transfer tape to the front Make sure your window or other surface are clean before you apply. Remove the paper backing and carefully line up your sticker. Once it touches the surface getting it off will be very tough.

Are You Eating the Proper Food Portions

As you know I struggle constantly with the shape and fitness of my body. I eat what I feel is a "good" diet. I drink at least 864 ounces of water a day, eat between 1200-1500 calories, and stay pretty active. Really thought it seems I am always spinning in circles. Recently I came across an article that may explain WHY! While I eat the right amount of calories a day I am not eating the right variety of foods. Here is the article if you want to learn how you maybe able to help your health and weight by eating the right foods keep to your body healthy and working to its full potential. Gardening in West Texas-Container Style!

Yeah I know my titles seem to get more and more lame hehehe. I've had such limited success with gardening it seems in this horrid soil we have. My onions, potatoes and beans seem to be growing "good", which really just means they aren't dead, but nothing else seems to survive. I have one cucumber plant that ended up someone in the watering furrows I have created. I think I may plant more down in there. The heat around here just seems to drain everything, add in a little bit of 60 mile per hour winds and all the good soil is gone! However I had a small handful of plants I bought in containers in the corner protected probably the best they can be from all these things and they are doing great! "Giant Tomato Tree" As seen on This thing has been growing for 4 months! Our first tomato in 2 years! Turning yellow now woohoo! My containers hiding in the corner. I know everyone loves my chickens ;o) we are on egg watch! Should be any day now

PottyCover Review and Giveaway

If you have ever taken a small child to the restroom in public you know how scary it can be for them and well even us sometimes! Not only are the toilets covered in goodness knows what but they are big and can be quite overwhelming! The PottyCover is a great way to help not only protect your child from the germs that may be crawling all over the toilet, but to make it a more friendly environment for them to be in. With a 4 year old little girl not only are germs "EVERYWHERE" but from her reaction they will most certainly be the end of She has had so much fun using these. We took one with us out shopping today and it was great. It's small size very easily fit into my purse and we were ready to go. It is durable enough that I didn't have to worry about tears like you would a toilet cover the store provide, but it was easily disposed of after we finished. A pack of PottyCover sells for $5.99 and it is available on Amazon , Ebay , all Buy Buy Baby stores

Let the Camping Adventure Begin!

With Memorial weekend and the official start of summer this weekend I am so ready! I'm sure you have heard me complaining about the heat here in Texas It really does seem to be relentless, but I am glad to say the weather men and women around the country finally think this weird weather we have all been having is finally GOING AWAY! As someone with kidneys who are most times less then happy this is great news. We have so many fun things planned for this summer. My family LOVE to camp and you have probably saw me post before about our forum Camp Over America . It is just getting up and running but is already becoming a great place for people to share their adventures and favorite things about camping. We are in the middle of planning a great adventure over the week of the 4th of July :O) hopefully we can get some people to join us. Here are our shirts ;o) our adevutres are going to take us all over Southern Colorado in that new jJeep I was talking about hehe.

Baby Blanket Music

Like many parents I've had my struggles with getting my children to sleep. I've rocked and sang, left on the light and even let them watch a movie while going to sleep. Even at 4 my youngest still has a really difficult time falling asleep some nights. So when I got a chance to review Baby Blanket Music I was excited that maybe just maybe something would help her fall asleep at a decent hour. My daughter is quite the music lover so when it arrived in the mail she was eager to try it out. I chose the Billy Joel album because I felt it would be most relaxing for her. If there is a reason to dance she will lol so I put it on during the day to see how she would react to it. After all I didn't want bed time backfiring on me! She sat with me and listened to the entire CD not once getting up just telling me how nice the music was. I was so relieved to find not only did she enjoy the music but didn't have the urge to get up and dance to it. Come bed time we put on the C

Teacher Appreciation

As a mother and someone heading towards the teaching field I know all to well how little appreciation teachers get. It is so hard though to be able to personalize gifts for all teachers. This year my children decided on something kind of funny instead :O) a nice pen, a pen holder, notepad and a giant eraser and TADA! In case my writing is to poor it says "Thanks for putting  up with my mistakes"

Refinishing a Chalk Board

When I was little there was nothing more fun then being able to play with my chalk inside my room :O). I'm not sure where my mother found it but I always remembered having this little chalk board that my sister and I would play with. While I still have the board it has seen a whole lot of wear over the last 25 years. Well recently I was in the store and saw a new spray paint to create a chalk board surface I wanted to try out. I wasn't as simple as I had hoped, and far more messy but I'm hoping my daughter gets as many years out of it as I did. I didn't have to sand mine first because the surface was already worn if yours is a newer surface though sand first and make sure to clean off the dust Make sure to tape any sections you don't want covered It isn't perfect but it will work :O) Most importantly read all the directions first because there is A LOT of You MUST wait 24 hours before using it. The dark blob in the middle is just my s

Adventures In Growing Goji Berries-Day1-THE PLANTING!

Goji berries have really about a million things the are claimed to be good for and have around in China since.....well...forever it seems. Used for every from fertility to cancer treatment support when I won 500 seeds I thought HUH let's see what we can grow haha. The best resource on them I have found so far is . So I figured I would start a kind of diary on them, growing them and hopefully one day when I get fruit, recipes. Here is day one, planting the seeds! wow that is 500 seeds! I'm not even sure you can see how tiny the seeds are I cut the pods open and ripped them into about 9 pieces each. I used an egg carton because not only is it a great way ti recycle but when they get big enough I can put the entire thing into the ground!Time to send some off to my friend at My Side of Life :O) I know she will show me up in raising them she is such a great gardener.

I've been away ALL day with my three little monkeys enjoying field day. Boy am I tired and so are the kids! The heat is back on the rise here and we ran and played in the water. Now it is time to sit in front of the air conditioner and enjoy some rest. Maybe even break my rule and order a pizza :O) here are some pictures from our day. Any plans for your Friday night??
