Day 28 Crockpot Challenge Wild Rice with Peas

I was a big worried about this recipe because my last rice experiment in the crockpot ended in disaster.lol I was assured though that it would work great so I held my breath. Thank goodness it turned out great because I had no real plan B for tonight's fish dinner. Here is what you will need:

2 1/4 Cups water
1 can of beef broth
1 can Condensed french Onion Soup
1/2 Cup Butter
1 Cup uncooked Brown Rice
1 Cup Uncooked Wild Rice
1 Cup Frozen Green Peas

Mix in Everything but the peas into your crockpot and allow to cook for 7-8 hours. About 30 minutes before serving mix in peas :O) the original recipe also called for 3 small cans of mushrooms but I don't like mushrooms.lol

Here we are at day 3, now unfortunately I am to sick to work out today but I wanted to make sure that I shared the information with you on how to do these exercises so that everyone could easily get their's done. I will catch up as I can, may even try to add extra to the days once I feel better. For today it is 50 burpees and 50 kick down crunches. If you don't know how to do these make sure to scroll down for directions! You will also see why with the flu these aren't doable.lol HOW TO DO A BURPEE!

Homemade Fly Traps

We all love summer but as the weather gets warmer the flies get worse and worse. We have a bush out front of our house that I swear just attracts every fly in town! I wanted to get rid of them but I didn't want to kill all the wonderful butterflies it also attracts. So I went about finding a new way to kill them all. I had some empty Tazo tea bottles I simply poked a pen sized whole in the top, added 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Now I do find that these work better if you place them in the sun :O) If you want to use a bigger container simply multiply the ingredients. Make sure your hole is only about the size of a pen cap! Then they can't seem to get back out.lol

Putting On Girl Scout Badges With A Flat Iron

I love helping all my little daisies earn badges, but as a mom I hate putting them on. Lol I saw an idea on Pinterest a while back to use a flat iron so I thought I'd give it a try.  It worked really well but I do have a couple suggestions. First make sure your badge  is exactly where you want them. Unlike an iron this causes the glue to melt very fast! Second count I 3-4 and it is probably done! Lastly you will likely have to apply pressure to the end pinching it tight. Overall it worked very well and I will probably keep putting badges on this way :)
