Marvelous Manicotti!

As a child I was raised on Italian food. My mother made the best of the best :O) As a mother of three and a full time student I can never seem to find the time to make it just like mom use to so I have found ways to improvise! Same great taste with half the work......Here is what you'll need to make a great manicotti.

  • 1 Box Manicotti noodles
  • 1 Can/Jar of sauce
  • 1 Small tub of ricotta cheese
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 pound Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 Teaspoon of garlic salt
  • 2 Teaspoons of Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 Teaspoon of pepper
Set aside noodles and sauce, then mix everything else in a bowl. Take this mixture and place into uncooked shells.....oh yes I did just say that  ;o) Place filled shells into a baking dish and pour over the sauce. Cover with foil and bake in a 350 degree oven for about an hour. If you like meat in your meal feel free to include it! Or any other ingredients just make it your own. This is also a great recipe for the crockpot.

Italian food is #1 on my favorites! This looks so yummy! Working with uncooked noodles seems so much easier. Thanks for the recipe.

Homemade Fly Traps

We all love summer but as the weather gets warmer the flies get worse and worse. We have a bush out front of our house that I swear just attracts every fly in town! I wanted to get rid of them but I didn't want to kill all the wonderful butterflies it also attracts. So I went about finding a new way to kill them all. I had some empty Tazo tea bottles I simply poked a pen sized whole in the top, added 1/2 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of dish soap, and 1 tablespoon of syrup. Now I do find that these work better if you place them in the sun :O) If you want to use a bigger container simply multiply the ingredients. Make sure your hole is only about the size of a pen cap! Then they can't seem to get back out.lol

Putting On Girl Scout Badges With A Flat Iron

I love helping all my little daisies earn badges, but as a mom I hate putting them on. Lol I saw an idea on Pinterest a while back to use a flat iron so I thought I'd give it a try.  It worked really well but I do have a couple suggestions. First make sure your badge  is exactly where you want them. Unlike an iron this causes the glue to melt very fast! Second count I 3-4 and it is probably done! Lastly you will likely have to apply pressure to the end pinching it tight. Overall it worked very well and I will probably keep putting badges on this way :)
