Eye Balls in Blood Sauce Over Brains!

MMmmmm........okay okay so obviously it isn't really that but what a fun way to make your kids a special Halloween treat. Here is what you will need to make this fun version of spaghetti and meatballs! Fresh Eyeballs: 1 pound of ground meat 1 Egg 1/2 Cup of bread crumbs 1 Teaspoon garlic salt 1/2 Teaspoon of pepper 1/2 teaspoon of Italian seasoning Blood Sauce: 1 Jar of your favorite pasta sauce 1 tablespoon of butter Brain: 1 Small box of pasta Start by making the eye balls. Mix all ingredients together very well. Take out small amounts about the size of your eye and roll into a ball. Place eye balls into a pan and cook thoroughly. When eye balls are cook drain any grease left in pan and add in the ingredients for the blood sauce ;o).  Let simmer for 30 minutes to saturate your eyeballs in the blood. Halloween Sweet Treats!

So today has been packed with creating so many tasty treats. I made a cake, nothing special just a funfetti Halloween version MMMmmm....My favorite. Then I moved on to the caramel popcorn and caramel apples. This was so fun and easy you can't even imagine. Here is what you will need: 1 Stick of butter(what no one said it was healthy) Apples(I like granny smith) Popsicle sticks(same number as your apples of course) 3 Bags of microwave popcorn 1 small sauce pan a spoon a plate  a large bowl 3 bags of caramels First unwrap all the caramels, yeah this really is the not so fun Put them all in your small sauce pan with the stick of butter. Turn the stove on as low as you can and let sit. It will take a while before everything will melt together just stir it every now and then to help it along. While this is melting pop the 3 bags of popcorn and put it in a large container. I picked out the unpopped kernels :O). Then pressed stick straight into the cent

Stanleys Big Adventure continues!

Stanley has been having so much fun traveling about the country meeting so many new friends. His first stop of his trip was Hometown, Illinois where he has so much fun with Michele and her family. Luckily he was able to escape while Licorice stood guard.   Next it was time to do something the Stanley had always wanted to do! He got to take the bus around town. Michele and her husband welcomed them at one of their favorite restaurants Geja's Cafe and boy was it amazing :O) After dinner they enjoyed some wonderful desserts and a big glass of wine :O) What a great time he had in Illinois with his new friends! He was so sad to have to leave but excited for his next adventure. New Mexico here he comes :O)

The Weightloss Journey

As a mother of 3 children like most my waist line is not what it use to be. I say time and time again that I am going to do it, today is the day, I'm tired of being overweight, yet I never do anything to change. Well as I get older I also get heavier and well let's face it I'm not getting any younger or any skinner without some try. This weekend I was blessed with an amazing opportunity that most people will never get. I was able to arrange a work out session and diet help from Brandon carter of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers :O) So as I journey towards losing the 20 pounds I have left over from baby number 3, who mind you is 4 years old by now, I think about the words of Thomas Edison who said "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." I hope everyone has an amazing day, time to grab my Mp3 player and get on the road to a healthier life.

Sticky Sunday

Nothing seems to be more fun then spending my Sundays with my family. Today was no different, we woke up early ofter a very late night win for Texas Tech, made a great breakfast, went to the park, and did some fun crafts. I'm not sure if I am alone in this but when I was little I LOVED Popsicle sticks. I made EVERYTHING out of them! Well I was talking on the phone to my own mother and she was talking about a little box that I had made her nearly 20 years ago. Of course it was made with Popsicle So we went by the local Dollar Tree and they had a ton of packages of them. The little voice inside me screamed WOOHOO! I was so pleased to find out that my kids loved them just as much. Now I have my own handmade box to enjoy for the next 20 years. These are such a great keepsake box. The kids can spend time after they dry to decorate these and make them personal. :O)

Tonight though I think Stanley is just going to need a So on this Saturday I am going to enjoy watching the Texas Rangers try for their first World Series title and watch some Red Raider football. Hope everyone has had a wonderful Saturday with their family.

Milk Jug Ghosts

The other day I was browsing around on Cafemom, one of my all time favorite sites, and passed a really cute idea. MILK JUG GHOST! Well there was no directions so I thought I would just wing it and see what I came up/ So I saved up two milk jugs, found a permanent marker, 2 battery operated candles and a pair of scissors and this is what I got :O) I can't wait to try out more :O) the kids are having so much fun and the best part is it is reusing something that we normally just throw away! My kids say we are now going to hang them from the trees to scare everyone for Halloween, have fun!

Mexican Jumping WHAT?!?!

Most of us have heard of Mexican Jumping Beans and if you are like me thought oh sure a bean that jumps. So much to my simple minded amazement I want into the local Dollar Tree only to find what?? Yep you guessed it Mexican Jumping Beans. So as I sit there with my daughter watching the beans twitch and think what in the world makes them do this?? "Magnets perhaps" I thought. Well sure enough as I look at them a sales associate walks up to me and starts to talk about them. It was then I learned what they truly were. SEEDS! Not only seeds but they were seeds with tiny caterpillars in them. The jumping in fact it cause by the movement of the small creatures inside as they mature into tiny moths. So naturally I bought one, I'm not sure how long this process is going to take but I plan on watching them the entire way. This is my little Beandito :O) To find out more about the Beanditos check out

Movin' on up

Lubbock Haboob 2011

If you have ever been to west Texas you know that the wind here is just something you deal with. We have all learned to embrace it with a pony tail holder in hand. Well yesterday was one of not only the windiest days lately with winds topping out near hurricane force at 73 MPH but because of lack of rain this year it created quite a dust storm. So as Lubbock makes national news I'd like to share some pictures taken by myself and friends. By.Tiffer Wright(before it rolled in) By:Christine Nicole(5pm in Lubbock) Probably not the best way to start rush hour! By:John Burke  Despite the coughing and dust that lay everywhere this was such an amazing sight to see. People living here for 65 years say they have never seen anything like this. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing it again, as long as I am inside ;O)

Motivational Monday

Every Monday seems to be the same. I wake up to a house that the weekend has overcome, make my list that I know I will never finish, and work myself to the bone trying to make this house a home. This morning while browsing through Facebook I was reminded that having the opportunity to do these things isn't something that everyone gets in life. It was a simple Facebook status update that reminds me that life itself is a blessing. " Thank God every day for a new opportunity. Not everyone was blessed to wake up this morning to see a new day. Despite all the problems in the world, big or small, you were blessed with another opportunity to change them . Make a change for the better, and someone along the road told me once " if your looking at the past, your back is faced towards the future." Blessings can come from the worst of situations, be strong in the lord and in his mighty power." So take a moment today to remember all the things in your life tha

A Blast From the Past

While cleaning out my closets yesterday I found a great childhood memory I had forgot I had stashed away. Little plastic beads, you know the ones I am talking about, the ones that fell in your carpet and never came out. Your all time favorite childhood craft that your mother hated. :O)  Well lucky for me I have no carpet, so I decided to take them out and let my children play with them. They had such an amazing time creating frogs and octopi that I think I may have to turn my house into a lake. Today while you are sitting around I hope you think of all the fun things you remember from your childhood and share them with your kids. You will be surprised how the simple things will bring a joy to their faces.

Flat Stanley Sees America!

As my children get older the books get cuter and cuter. Recently they started reading the Flat Stanley books by Jeff Brown and fell in love. I remembered then that not to long ago a friend and her children had a Flat Stanley Adventure of their own and I decided that would be an amazing experience to have with my children. So I hope you will join us as Flat Stanley Sees America :O) Flat Stanley is ready for his big adventure :O) He will be leaving West Texas today for his first stop, Hometown Illinois. He can't wait to see all the sights and meet new friends.

Bringing Back New Life

Garage sales are one of my favorite things to go to on the weekend. I see so many neat things that most people see as useless. One thing I really enjoy doing is taking an old container and making it into a beautiful candle. A couple of weeks ago I was browsing around our local second hand store and came across a pot that would make the perfect gift for my step mother since it matched her collection yet really had no use. What I love about making candles, it is so fun and easy, and I want to share with you how to create your own candles at home. I really prefer to use soy wax because it is all natural but really you can use whatever variety of wax you may chose. For this project you will need: *A pot that can hold at least 4 cups *1 ounce Candle scent oil *1 Pound of candle wax *1 candle Wick *A glue gun *2 Pencils *2 Small rubber bands(they have some great tiny ones in the hair supply isle) *A a metal spoon for stiring So right now you are probably thinking oka

Cookies make the world go round :O)

I must say I enjoy nothing more in life then a great cookie.  As far back as I can remember my mother and I always made cookies together.  Cookies of every kind from peanut butter, my all time favorite, to chocolate chip.  It is a tradition I love to carry on with my children. From adding the ingredients to licking the beaters. Yep, I let my kids lick the beaters ;op, there is no greater joy as a child.  So I thought I would share one of my favorite cookies with everyone.  It is out of a 1979 magazine and is easy and wonderful. BUTTER COOKIES! 1 Egg 2 1/2 cups flour 2 sticks of butter 1/2 cup sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla coloring if you choose    This is by far the easiest cookie I have ever made. It is simple. Just dump everything in a bowl and mix well!  I use a cookie press to make different shapes but you could simply drop the mixture on a pan as well. Bake at 350 for roughly 8 minutes. Cooking times will vary depending on the size and shape of your cookie.  These cookies ta
